Money doesn't buy happiness. Find a community to stay with for some time. Get to know people who're 'in a higher rank', make other friends and of course, make a name for yourself. Really, I couldn't do most of the things I can do without help of others. When you think you're up for it, try to create something. Make a scheme of what it should look like, and ways of achieving it. If you want to have a server, maybe you could make a deal with someone: I do this and that for you, then you give me a space on your server. I'm doing it all the time.

Also note that you cannot achieve everything straight from the beginning. Everyone has to learn and has to go through failures and/or situations you're not familiar with. It might indeed take a lot of your time: It took me around 3-4 years of trial and error before I got the hang of scripting really. (Do note that this was without almost no support at all.)

Last of all, don't make this discourage you. If you want to do something, just do it. That's the way things go. If you want to try something, try it and see how it works out. If it turns into a success, it's great. If it doesn't, there are two options: Number one, take a look at what you did wrong and try to improve it, or number two, give up on the project and maybe re-try it at a later date. Both options are okay to choose.

Back to the 'not enough money' part: Think outside the box. There are multiple ways of coming around without having money. Maybe some other friends of you want to set up a new server. Try to join in. I also know a few guys creating a server, if you want I can ask them if you guys could join the project.

We used to have a very successful samp server. We used to have 50 players average on weekends. It was a DM server. I am not leaving samp I wanted to tell everyone that our SAMP server has closed.
